Red wine is made from the healthy fruits such as grapes, berries, raisins, figs, that are supercharged antioxidants, minerals, vitamins that keep the heart healthy, fights cold and flu, keeps sugar levels down, fights cancer cells and induces good night sleep (my favorite). Do you still think it’s bad for health? If you don’t like drinking, then why not apply it topically? Yes, read my favorite ways of using red wine on my skin and their benefits:
1. Red wine to reduce signs of aging:
Did you know that red wine can make you look 10 years younger? No, I am not kidding, on a serious note, it is rich in flavonoids, polyphenols, antioxidants that fade the fine lines, wrinkles, boosts collagen production and keeps the skin healthy and plump.
Red wine facial- Mix 1 tablespoon of red wine with 1 teaspoon of honey and apply it over your face for 20 minutes. Rinse with cool water and you will notice glowing and supple skin.
2. Red wine to prevent acne and breakouts:
Alpha hydroxy acids help your skin fight bacteria that cause acne and it is found in red wine too. So red wine will keep your skin clear from acne and even prevent clogging of pores.
DIY red wine acne treatment- take a tablespoon of red wine and with the help of cotton balls dab red wine topically on your acne and within a few weeks you will notice acne free skin. Do give a shot, I suggest you apply weekly thrice for faster results.
3. Red wine exfoliation for softer and glowing skin:
Red wine is known to slough off the dead skin cells and promote healthy and satin soft skin cells. Also, it has skin whitening properties, so you can use it to reduce tanned skin.

4. Red wine as skin toner:
Want to minimize your pores? Then add red wine to your beauty regime. It has skin tightening properties and will reduce the appearance of pores and prevent blackheads, dirt, and excess sebum to settle on your face. It even will maintain the pH levels of your skin, which would prevent acne and other skin issues.
DIY toner- Mix equal parts of red wine and rose water and soak a cotton pad in this mixture and gently smear the cotton pad on your face. Wash your face with cool water. Do this every morning and night and say goodbye to enlarged pores.
5. Red wine solves hair woes:
Tired of hair fall, dandruff, and thin hair? It is time to welcome red wine in your life. Red wine stimulates blood circulation in your scalp and protects your hair from UV rays damage. So drink a glass of red wine and gift yourself healthy and nourishing hair.
